AREAS AFFECTED: City of Hyder
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Temperatures up to around 80 degrees expected. * WHERE...City of Hyder. * WHEN...From noon to 7 PM AKDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Individuals not accustomed to these unusually warm temperatures for this region may experience heat related illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm temperatures are expected Saturday, reaching into the high 70s to low 80s. Warm temperatures will continue through the rest of the weekend and into the start of next week. Temperatures will be warmer inland, try to wear loose fitting clothing and limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
INSTRUCTION: Drink plenty of fluids and check up on elderly and vulnerable relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances as vehicle interiors can reach extreme temperatures in as little as 10 minutes Take extra precautions when working in the sun. Wear sunscreen and lightweight, loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke Close curtains during the daytime to reduce sun insulation into the home and open windows at night to allow the home to cool off. Utilize fans or community buildings with air conditioning.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and
may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud
is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.
Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall,
becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds.
When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
