DESCRIPTION: SVRFWD The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Lamar County in north central Texas... Northeastern Fannin County in north central Texas... * Until 1000 PM CDT. * At 852 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Crockett Lake to Toco to near Big Creek Lake, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Severe thunderstorms will be near... Roxton, Sumner, and Lake Gibbons around 900 PM CDT. Lake Crook and Pat Mayse Lake around 905 PM CDT. Parish, Reno and Camp Maxey around 910 PM CDT. Powderly around 915 PM CDT. Blossom and Pattonville around 920 PM CDT. Arthur City around 925 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Telephone, Glory, Duplex, Direct, Midcity, Minter, Forest Hill, Petty, Taylor Town, and Globe.
INSTRUCTION: For your protection get inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning can kill.

A fractus cloud (scud) is a fragmented, tattered cloud which has
likely been sheared off of another cloud. They are accessory clouds, meaning they
develop from parent clouds, and are named in a way which describes the original
cloud which contained them.
Fractus clouds which have originated from cumulus clouds are referred to as
cumulus fractus, while fractus clouds which have originated from stratus clouds
are referred to as stratus fractus. Under certain conditions a fractus cloud might
merge with another cloud, or develop into a cumulus cloud, but usually a
fractus cloud seen by itself will dissipate rapidly.
They are often observed on the leading and trailing edges of storm clouds,
and are a display of wind activity.

Graupel is a form of precipitation that is created by atmospheric conditions
which cause supercooled water droplets to contact snow crystals and freeze to
their surface.
Sometimes known as soft hail or snow pellets, graupel is delicate and easily
destroyed by touch. Whereas hail usually falls during severe weather, graupel
doesn't require such conditions to form, and can form in mild precipitation
similar to situations which produce snowfall.
